Ingredients & Production
To produce the chews, the milk is mixed with a very small amount of lime juice and salt (less than 0.1% salt total) to coagulate and harden it. The curd is then compressed into blocks and smoke-dried for 28 days, which gives the treats their distinct smoky flavor.
The Microwave Trick
When the chew gets worn down to a small end piece, you can remove it to prevent a choking hazard and place it in the microwave on high for 30 to 60 seconds. It will puff up like a giant crunchy cheese crisp. Once cooled, it becomes a completely different soft, honeycomb snack for your dog to safely finish.
