UK Legal Requirements for Pet Tags
When getting your tag engraved , keep in mind the legalities. Under the UK Control of Dogs Order 1992, any dog in a public place must wear a collar with the owner’s name and address (including the postcode) inscribed on it.
- What to include: Your surname, house number, and postcode (which legally specifies a full UK address and saves space on smaller tags). Including a telephone number is highly recommended but not legally required.
