Johnson’s Anti-bacterial Powder 20gm is a popular UK veterinary over-the-counter dry dressing used to treat minor surface wounds, cuts, bites, and scrapes on pets. Manufactured by  Johnsons in the UK, this soothing antiseptic formula kills bacteria, prevents infection, and helps accelerate the skin’s natural healing process. 

• Active Ingredient: Tosylchloramide Sodium (2% w/w), which acts as a powerful disinfectant.
• Target Animals: Suitable for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small animals.
• Common Uses: Treats minor scratches, bites, grazes, and skin abrasions.
• Primary Function: Acts as a dry dressing to keep the wound clean, protected, and free from moisture build-up.
• Available Sizes: 20g shakers 

1. Clean: Wash away any dirt, debris, or hair from the wound area using clean water.
2. Dry: Gently pat the affected area completely dry.
3. Apply: Liberally puff or sprinkle the powder directly onto the wound.
4. Alternative: You can also add the powder directly to a clean dressing bandage before wrapping. 

• Age Restrictions: Do not use on puppies or kittens under 12 weeks of age, or on nursing mothers.
• Application Warning: Avoid any contact with the animal’s eyes or mouth.
• Inhalation Hazard: Avoid breathing in the dust, as it may cause respiratory irritation or asthma-like symptoms.
• Chemical Reactivity: Keep the powder away from acids, as contact with acid releases toxic gas.
• Vet Consultation: If the wound does not show signs of improvement within 7 days, stop use and consult a veterinary surgeon immediately.
