Description
Collection only,
Fallow Antlers are 100% natural, durable treats sourced from the naturally shed antlers of Fallow deer, frequently collected from sustainably managed herds in the Scottish Highlands and UK forests. Unlike denser Red Deer or Elk antlers, Fallow antlers are distinctly flatter, wider, and slightly softer, making them a popular “soft-to-medium” chew option for UK pet owners.
Key Physical Characteristics
-
- Distinct Shape: They feature a unique, wide “paddle” or webbed shape. This flatter profile makes them much easier for dogs to grip between their paws while gnawing.
- Softer Texture: While still highly durable, the outer bone shell is thinner and less dense than other deer antlers. This gives dogs quicker, easier access to the tasty, nutrient-dense inner marrow.
- Low Mess & Odour-Free: As a completely unprocessed product, they do not smell to humans, will not stain your carpets, and leave very little residue as they are slowly ground down.
- Non-Splintering: Because they are grown naturally rather than boiled or chemically treated, they wear down gradually through grinding instead of fracturing or splintering.
Health & Behavioural Benefits
-
- Natural Dental Care: Act as a natural toothbrush. The abrasive action of chewing gently scrapes away plaque and tartar buildup, promoting healthier gums and fresher breath.
- Nutrient Rich: Packed with organic minerals like calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, and protein.
- Anxiety & Stress Relief: The physical act of prolonged gnawing triggers the release of calming endorphins in a dog’s brain, providing great mental stimulation and reducing boredom.
- Hypoallergenic: A single-ingredient, grain-free, and low-fat treat that is excellent for dogs with sensitive stomachs or food allergies.
Best Suited For
Fallow antlers are the ideal choice if you find standard deer antlers too hard or uninteresting for your dog. They are highly recommended for:
-
- Puppies over 12 to 14 weeks old who are teething.
- Senior dogs or dogs with milder, less aggressive chewing styles.
- Smaller breeds that struggle to get their jaws around round, thick bone chews.
- Medium : £10.29 – 75gms to 150gms
- Large : £15.20 – £10.29 each 75gms to 150gms +
Note: They are typically not recommended for aggressive, powerful adult chewers who may break through the softer structure too quickly. Always supervise your dog while they chew and discard the piece once it becomes small enough to be a swallowing or choking hazard
